Heritage
Oaks is a 157 unit senior residential community designed and was built
in cooperation with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Glendora.
The
apartments are priced at low, low-mod, and market rate rents. Therefore,
there is a mixture of income elements, all of which are living happily
in this environment.
The
project is 157 units, cascading down a hillside on the 10-acre parcel
with a design incorporating 7 buildings. Additionally, there is a large
recreational center with a kitchen and greenhouse, and outside there
is a large pool and deck area. The recreation building has a series
of ongoing activities and parties such as the normal holiday events
plus evening bingo and bridge tournaments. Heritage Oaks residents ride
take bus rides to Disneyland, San Diego and Las Vegas.
The
project was designed as a group of individual buildings which interact
and interrelate to each other, while at the same time focus onto the
main recreational area which is the center of the project.
The
project backs to a natural preserve, and deer and other animals come
down in the morning to visit the property.
This
project has enjoyed an exceptional success and sets the pace for other
senior housing projects in the San Gabriel Valley.
